Filed under: Learning Photography — Brandis Allison @ 6:17 pm

I’m in love with this photo of Jared and his daughter Abigayle. I’m not sure if it goes with this week’s theme, but she is over his head! In fact, she is resting so perfectly on his bald head. This moment stole my heart.

Anyone can enter the i heart faces photo challenges.  Go to their website —-> HERE ——> and sign up for the next one.

A Little Love {Pieces of Me}

Filed under: Pieces of Me — Brandis Allison @ 9:20 am

Usually Sundays are my “In the Kitchen” days, where I share healthy recipes with you all.  But my kitchen is undergoing a major make-over. Yet again.  New counter tops await us!  And a new paint color too! I’m hoping that in 2 weeks everything will be finished.  So until then, you’ll hear about random happenings in my world.

While in SC recently, I got dressed up, put Millie in a pretty little dress, added our Bald Bloomer Accessories and put Carson in a nice outfit – to get some photos taken.  I am rarely in front of the camera myself and rarely do I end up liking the photos when I see them.  We are our own worst critics, right?  I’m certain that until I get back to where I know I can be (body-wise) and where I know I want to be, then I won’t like any photo taken of me. Until I saw these.

My husband is my photographer, naturally. I did the final edits, but what I love is that he has a very similar style to me.  And he always seems to capture the most beautiful photos, that just happen to have me in them.  I’m so honored that he has joined my business and will be second shooting weddings with me.  Anyway, back to the topic of today’s blog, I love these next 3 photos.  They mean so much to me.

This first one, gives me goosebumps I love it so much!  I also added a little texture to the photo, to make it unique.  I can’t wait to get this one on my wall!

Little man was ready to run and play, so he skipped out on the next two.  But that’s okay because I love a little girl-time with my best girl!

Kisses!  XXXXX

Thank you to my amazing husband, for giving me these memories to cherish for the rest of my life! Upon taking our camera back into my hands, I snapped a photo of the view from that particular bench. I could live near the beach.  Yes, most definitely!

Rachel | A 2011 Graduating Senior

Filed under: It's Anytime — Brandis Allison @ 8:39 pm

She walked into Panera Bread, with Mom and Dad right by her side. She was shy. Quiet. But had a beautiful smile. I asked her what hobbies she was into. She told me photography and reading. She loves to read. We talk about the logistics about a senior shoot. We chat about her small graduating class. Then we said our goodbyes.

I honestly wasn’t sure if Robin (Rachel’s mom) was going to contact me or not, to be quite honest. Usually I can tell within a moment or two, if a person is going to book me as their photographer. This quiet family, however, was such a mystery to me! I remember calling my husband and saying, “You know babe, I’m just not sure. I don’t think they liked me!”

I got an email a couple of days later and after a few rounds of questions, I was hired! I was excited and nervous. I was anxious and a tad timid, when thinking about Rachel’s very important photo shoot. But then I remembered that Rachel, despite being quiet, was into photography and she loved reading. We have those things in common. We had a lot more in common, which I found out little, by little, as the weeks went on.

Rain. Did I mention to you just how much I despise it when I have a photo shoot scheduled? Why can’t it rain around my schedule? hehee. Only in a perfect world, right? Rachel had to reschedule, due to rain, 3 or 4 times. I honestly lost count! Then the day of her shoot finally arrived and guess what? Rain was coming our way! I asked if we could wing it and try to get some photos in. It was completely up to Rachel of course, but to my surprise she was all for it! That’s my kinda girl, I thought, as I packed up my gear and rushed out to Plain City, to a very unfamiliar park.

This shoot was amazing. It was fun and spontaneous. Robin held the umbrella over my head as the rain came down. And Rachel was all smiles. She was goofy, outgoing and totally fun. She looked gorgeous! Well…see for yourself! Meet the beatiful Rachel (who is in Costa Rica right now by the way…yes…jealous!)

This next photo stole my heart.  It will be framed. Really really big! And probably entered into a contest or two.  Because it is that amazing to me.  Rachel!!!  WOW girl!

I brought along my Nikon film camera, for Rachel to snap a few pictures with.  She doesn’t own a camera of her own just yet, but once she does I’m hoping she Rock’s the Shot with me so we can shoot together!

Right before this next photograph, she told me “this is how a boy poses.” And then she makes this face at me! OMG! It was priceless.  I was too busy giggling at her to snap her at that moment, but I did get many more silly faces from her that day.

You are gorgeous. Really, you are!

This next one cracks me up.  I showed Rachel her “attitude” right after snapping it and she says to me “O.M.G. that’s my DAD!” And for the record hot pink converse = love.

Right before this one, she gave me a little “Valley Girl” talk and expression.  Oh yes, I did capture it! But when she was finished being silly, she looked absolutely gorgeous.  I really can’t say it enough!

Here she is being silly.  Just wait til you see the others in a post I have called “Silly Faces” But I did have to show you what I’ve been talking about.  Gosh I adore this girl.

Look at that attitude!

When we got back to being “serious” I captured Rachel in probably the most innocent and serene of moments that day, on the dock. Another favorite of mine!

Even though it was pouring rain by now, I told Rachel to grab her books and hit the nearest bench.  We had to get these into our set. Because it’s who she is.  And I love that about her.

hehee.

Rachel – you are too cute.  I seriously think the world of you.  I adore you.  And your momma!  I see such a bright and fulfilling life in your future.  A life full of great books, photography, silly afternoons and amazing love.  The world is at your fingertips. Just reach out and grab it girl!  It’s yours for the taking.  Please let me know if you ever need anything.  Because you and your family are now dear friends.  Thank you for choosing me to document this special time in your life.  It was the greatest honor…ever!

Sick Days {Pieces of Me}

Filed under: Pieces of Me — Brandis Allison @ 5:33 pm

My son has a nasty virus that seems to be spreading like wildfire, according to our pediatrician. Today is day 3 and the doctor told us that this particular virus can last 10 days.  He is in so much pain and there is very little we can do for him, to make him feel better.  He is only 2 after-all. It absolutely breaks my heart to see him feeling badly.  And with sickness, comes sleepless nights, no time to get anything accomplished and lots of tears.  LOTS.OF.TEARS.

I was going through my vacation pictures very early this morning (3a) while I finally had a moment to myself.  And I shed a few tears looking at some of my little man.  I wished so much that he could get back to being all smiles and giggles.  I know that he will feel better soon and I pray that his virus doesn’t last the entire 10 days.  I might just need another vacation, if that is the case!

Here are some photos from our South Carolina vacation, taken over the Fourth of July weekend.  I love him so.

This next one melts my heart.

I love seeing them together. The photos below are SOOC using my Nikon D700 + 85mm 1.4.

Step By Step :: What To Expect {Wedding Photography}

Filed under: Destination Weddings,Learning Photography,Ohio Weddings — Brandis Allison @ 8:56 am

I have been extremely fortunate to have many wedding inquiries grace my inbox lately and I love hearing back from the Brides who are interested in meeting with me.  They all have a story to tell and a beautiful one at that!  Upon hearing my “first meeting” method, some photographers are SHOCKED!  Some tell me that I’m wasting my time or that I am spending money on someone that may not book me after all is said and done.  And when I tell them my why, they still look at me, with their mouth wide-open.  It’s just me, I tell them. And the Bride’s who feel a different photographer is a better fit for them, I want them to know that I still loved meeting them and feel honored to have gotten to know them – even if it was briefly.  I never take the non-bookings to heart because I know that in the end, that couple wasn’t a fit for me or me for them.  Trust me, it goes both ways! I don’t shoot weddings to make a living.  I shoot weddings because I want to and because I adore the Bride and Groom. And if I do agree to shoot a wedding, I know without even a slight amount of doubt, that I will be crying throughout their wedding day.  Because I’ll be watching my new, fabulous friends get married.

As you know, I’m completely honest and forthcoming. I don’t believe in secrets and I never want anyone to feel deceived (the way I felt when working with a professional photographer when my son was 3 months old). I’m going to share with you my steps when meeting with Brides.  If you are a photographer, just starting out and/or are thinking of shooting a wedding, I hope this helps you. And to any Bride who may be reading this…I seriously love my clients and invest in them the moment they say they want to meet me in person.  That is my way of saying thank you for sharing your love story with me.

Step 1 :: Receive Email Inquiry or Phone Inquiry

Step 2 :: Send back my hi, hello and congratulations email.  I also want to know from the get-go, more about the Bride.  Just the bride. I ask her to tell me more about herself.  And then I give her my base price, along with everything that is included.  I also tell her I’m ready to meet her, if I’m in her budget.

Step 3 :: I get an excited email back and a YES I wanna meet you. I explain that my initial meeting is super casual and just with the Bride.  She may bring someone along if she wishes.  But to leave her Groom at home.  Trust me on this one, he will be bored to tears while us girls talk all things love. I usually schedule a meeting at a coffee house or casual restaurant. If the bride insists on her hubby to be tagging along, I suggest we head to a sports bar, that way he has a TV to keep him preoccupied when I’m only chatting with the Bride.  She usually agrees with me and we set up our meeting date, time and location.

Step 4 :: Prepare her gift.  Yes, I give the Brides who meet with me a small, but meaningful gift. This is my way of saying thank you to them.  I love to meet with the Bride, to look at photos of her wedding dress, to talk colors, flowers, ceremony time, how she first met her man, how he proposed and how many guests she plans on having attend.  I want to know every.little.detail.  I listen to her, get goosebumps as she shares her love story and secretly wish she does choose me.  Because everyone I end up meeting with is seriously fabulous!  Included in her personalized gift bag is the following: Gift, Handwritten Thank You Note, Specific Investment Details, A Sample of my Wedding Contract, a Wedding Survey, a Photography Checklist and probably the most important item ever; The Top 10 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Photographer.  I advise them to ask these questions when meeting with other photographers.  And I give them a hard-copy of my answers.  I want my Brides to know exactly who I am, where I come from, that I run a legit business through a DBA and am a proud member of PPA (Professional Photographer’s of America).

Step 5 :: Meet with the lovely Bride.  We seriously chat for about an hour and a half.  And it’s always so fun! She sees that I have a gift I give her and I explain what’s inside the bag.  I give her a brief explanation of my fabulous products (32 Album Choices, 94 color, texture and style choices, brag albums, High Res DVD of Images, etc.)  I want to make sure she is prepared for what she is about to read and knows what to expect.  But here’s the thing, I never ever talk about my products until more toward the last part of our meeting.  I let her do the talking.  It is all about her after-all. I do not bring products or albums for her to see because I know she has already seen my work and already loves my style.  This meeting is solely to see if we connect in person.  If she loves me even more, after we meet, then she calls or emails to tell me that she wants to book me for her wedding.  And that my friend, is the biggest honor ever!

Step 6 :: Schedule our double date.  You read that correctly! My husband Freddie and I shoot weddings together and to kick off the “getting to know you” part of our very important new working relationship, we treat the couple to dinner.  Before dinner, we have the couple meet us at our home studio to see our fabulous products and to sign the contract.  The Bride and Groom are officially booked! The non-refundable retainer always accompanies the signed contract.  Then we take off to the restaurant. At dinner, we chit-chat about anything and everything.   and then we chat about their complimentary Engagement shoot. We also set up a time, location and details.  By the time dessert rolls around we are laughing and having a great time getting to know each other better!

Step 7 :: Virtual Contract, Wedding Worksheet, Photography List and private studio password are emailed to the Bride and Groom.   I also start blogging their love story, so that come time for me to take their engagement photos, their entry is saved and ready to be published!  This saves me so much time and seriously enables this mommy with a serious case of “mommy brain” to share each and every little detail that makes my Bride and Groom so perfect for one another.  I want to share their story.  Because it’s always such a beautiful story!

Step 8 :: Send out the Bridal Welcome Packet and Gift.  Yes, another gift!  Because I’m known to spoil my clients rotten.  I enjoy giving gifts and making her smile.  And her welcome packet has a ton of information and goodies to help her plan the rest of her wedding and to incorporate wedding photography into HER.BIG.DAY.  It also gives her a sample time-line of when to finalize the plans of the products she has purchased. I don’t want her to have to think about anything photography related, after her wedding.  I want her to know I will already be taking care of everything and seeing to it that everything arrives in perfect condition, just as we discussed and planned during her engagement.

Step 9 :: Shoot Engagement

Step 10 :: Meet with Bride at her Ceremony and Reception sites to finalize lighting set-up, photo locations, etc.

Step 11 :: Shoot Bridal Boudoir Shoot (if she schedules one) or Couple’s Boudoir Shoot!

Step 12 :: Shoot Wedding

Step 13 :: Call the Newlyweds to tell them their fabulous products have arrived and set up a time to meet with them.  I have them come to the home studio to ensure everything looks just perfect and they are in love with the products.  We’ll chat about the honeymoon and life as newlyweds.  And they will be on their way, fabulous products in hand!

Step 14 :: Place their wedding day on my calendar for many, many years to come.  Because they will be getting a Happy Anniversary card from me. I always stay in touch with my past clients.  Because by the time they pick up their Heirloom Album, Custom DVD Box, Wall Art and more, we’ve become great friends.

You may notice a few extra steps, that a lot of other photographers may not take.  Well, I’m not just any photographer.  I only book weddings if I fall in love with the Bride’s love story and if we connect on a personal level during our very first meeting. I am invested in her the moment she says she wants to meet in person. That’s just me.  You may agree or disagree, but I wouldn’t change a thing!

Beach Bums {Pieces of Me}

Filed under: Pieces of Me — Brandis Allison @ 12:54 pm

During our trip to South Carolina over the 4th of July, my husband and I took the babies to the beach for the first time.  A real salt-water beach.  The drive from our hotel, 20 minutes away, pretty much took forever. I’m talking a 2 hour drive.  But when we finally arrived to the entrance of Folly, it was such a beautiful site!

The babies didn’t quite know what to think about the beach and their unknown surroundings, so sat  on their towels, drank red juice and ate some yummy “chiiiips” as my son calls them. All the while, the look on their faces is definitely saying “Oh geez, Mommy, put away that camera!”  In my defense, this is what I do.  I can’t help it!

Once the suncreen was lathered on, the toys were ready to go and the excitment of feeling the sand inbetween our toes was just too much to bare – we hit the beach.  We sat at the shoreline and got splashed by large waves.  My son had a blast, giggling as each wave hit.  My daughter clapped her hands and did her cute little squeal, the one she does every time she gets excited.  In that moment I gave my beautiful children a hug and kiss and promised many more vacations and many more firsts would be coming their way!

After a couple of hours playing in the water and looking for seashells, we decided it was time to get dried off.  A.Rae enjoyed her view of the ocean. I’m in love with this photo of her.

Of course she had to eventually crawl to her mommy and make silly faces at me!

Carson and daddy played with their beach toys, in the sand.  I loved seeing them together.  It always melts my heart.

We packed up to leave and slowly made our way back to our car.  Sand everywhere, the aroma of sunscreen lingering and a tired family – ready for a nap, was quite eminent! What a perfect day it was.  And a perfect way to remember why it was, that we could enjoy days like this. The view leaving Folly Beach, was just as beautiful as it was, when we first arrived.

Learning Photography :: Rock the Shot + Janelle

Filed under: Learning Photography,Rock the Shot — Brandis Allison @ 9:19 am

As you know I am now hosting “Rock the Shot” events in which you may choose to spend a half-day with me and learn your camera OR you may choose to spend an entire day with me and learn photography! Which ever you choose, I always have a model available for the day and yes, you get to practice everything you learn, on a real person. This series is especially important for a Mommy or Hobbyist, that has a dSLR camera.

Is a Rock the Shot Event right for you?  These Q’s should help you decide.

{1} Are you familiar with the terms f-stop, aperture, shooting wide open, exposure compensation, ISO, metering, and shutter speed?
{2} Do you know how all of the above terms work together?
{3} Do you know where all of these features are located?
{4} Do you know how to change your camera body’s control panel to adjust contrast, brightness, white balance, sharpness and colors?
{5} Do you know what bokeh is and how to achieve that look no matter if you’re indoors or out?
{6} Did you know that I NEVER use my on-camera flash?  Even indoors!

and the biggest question I have for you is this: {7} Are you shooting in full-manual-mode?  Not P. Not A and Not S! If you aren’t in control of your entire camera, then my friend, you owe it to yourself to learn how!  It’ll change your life!

I’ve built an entire website dedicated to my Rock the Shot events.  Check it out ———————–> Click HERE. I mean, you’ve already spent the money to invest in a beautiful camera.  Now you owe it to yourself to learn it and use it to the best of it and your ability.

During Megan’s Rock the Shot, we had the beautiful Janelle to work with!  Janelle contacted me awhile back, about possibly starting a career in modeling. I told her that she should see what being in front of the camera feels like and to see if she likes it.  She happily agreed to be a Rock the Shot model and we met for our shopping date! Janelle is stunning and I knew that going fashion sexy and urban sexy was the way to go.

After a quick outfit change, we headed to a more rural part of the city.

Janelle, you are gorgeous girl! I wish you nothing but success in your upcoming modeling career.  I absolutely adore you!

Featured :: Chelsey of Bald Bloomers

Filed under: It's Personal. — Brandis Allison @ 11:19 am

I am so thrilled to introduce you to the woman behind Bald Bloomers, my first commercial relationship.  Meet Chelsey.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Chelsey over these past few months and let me just tell you, I think she is one of the most beautiful, soft spoken, passionate women I have ever met.  Seriously. She is gorgeous.  She is passionate about her husband, two beautiful daughters M & C, and about her work. Chelsey is kind and extremely thoughtful of her clients.  Upon our agreement to put together a commercial shoot to showcase her beautiful creations on lots of little girls, she sent me several pieces for my daughter A.Rae! It was incredibly generous and unexpected.  And I greatly appreciated it.  A.Rae loves her accessories and giggles every time she has one on.

A part of my commercial contract, I agreed to feature Chelsey here on my blog so that she can share in her own words, more about herself and more about her love of creativity.  It’s my pleasure to do so.  Chesley, you are fabulous.

BRANDIS :: What type of business is Bald Bloomers and what do you specialize in?
CHELSEY :: Bald Bloomers is a small home based accessory business with a focus on little girls but also offers some fun options for women of all ages. I specialize in hand crafted clips, hats, and headbands with flowers, feathers, and buttons.

When did you go into the business?
I started Bald Bloomers about a year ago kind of on a whim. I had made a few headbands for my own daughters, Mabry and Charlie, and received so many complements were ever we went. With the encouragement of my family and the requests from strangers I started selling my headwear.

Where are you located and where can we find your beautiful creations?
I am located in Milford Center, Ohio. It is a very small village about five minutes out side of Marysville. Currently you can find Bald Bloomers in a number of places including:  {Click on their names to be redirected to their websites}
·       My new website www.baldbloomers.bigcartel.com
·       The Morgan House on  5300 Glick Road in Dublin, OH
·       Twisted Sister on 109 South Main St. in Marysville, OH
·       Worth Repeating on 1196 Columbus Avenue, Marysville, OH
·       Sweet Annie’ s Cabin on 436 South Broadway, Greenville, OH
·       I also take custom orders from my facebook fan page Bald Bloomers.
I am always looking for new places to sell my product – Anyone have any ideas?

What makes BB different from your competitors?

The thing that makes Bald Bloomers a cut above the rest is that each accessory has been carefully and thoughtfully made by my own hands and to my high standards. I would never sell anything that I would not buy myself or something that I wouldn’t put on my own children. I also work hard to follow current trends but also give each flower a piece of my own unique personal style. You can always expect something chic with an artsy and vintage undertone.

Do you have a favorite creation? If so what is it and why?
Right now my favorite creations with Bald Bloomers are my handmade three rose headbands. Currently I’m selling them on my website (see link above). I love to make them and to wear them. At home I’m always in a hurry to get out the door and just have time to wear my hair back in a pony tail or wear it air dried and down. I keep two of the rose headbands in my car so I just have to pick the one that matches and put it on as I drive. I love how they instantly give me an “I actually got it together today” look without really having it together! Fake it till you make it right? This particular band is really popular with not only moms but the teens, twenty something’s and even menopause madams!  There is just something classic about them. My daughters love them as well. They love getting to ware a “big girl” headband and I love how they look on them!

How would you describe your creativity style?
Even though I am definitely always changing what I do and don’t like, a few things always stay true. I am and always have been obsessed with vintage. I love vintage styles, fabric patterns and color combination’s. I love the boldness but classic style of the 1950s. I also have an artsy aspect in my style. I’m always looking for things that are a little different and quirky, and things that have interesting detail. I love classic bold colors and geometric shapes. If you can’t tell by my accessories I love a statement and some theatrics!

Why should a client choose YOU to purchase their accessories from?
Besides my gorgeous looks and perfect personality of course, I think my clientele (mothers, grandmothers, aunts, teen, tweens) can connect with me. At the end of the day I’m a stay at home mom who loves her kids but still wants to keep a little bit of the things in my life that make me simply me.  I think clients can respect that and find comfort in knowing how much my creative business means to me.

What is the greatest accomplishment thus far, in your artistic journey?
As far as my artistic journey goes, I am still completely blow away that anyone wants to purchase something that I have made! It is satisfying to me that people like what I have to offer.

Who influences you personally and professionally?

I definitely pull out influences from everyone close to me. Everyone in my immediate life shows me something I want to strive for. I learn to open my eyes to all probabilities from my mother and grandmother. My husband teaches me to be positive. I’m learning how to get out there and make things happen for myself from my father, and how to find pleasure in life’s simple everyday things through the eyes of my daughters. They all make me, me!

Do you accept custom orders from clients?
Yes, I love doing custom orders! I find it really satisfying to bring out the best in not only the outfit, but the person. To purchase a custom order, a client can contact me via email (baldbloomers@yahoo.com) or message me on facebook. I am really good at matching without personally seeing the outfit. All the accessories I created for the little girls in the photo shoot were custom created and I only saw a handful of the outfits before hand.  The remainders of the hair accessories were made via email, etc. I thought we hit a home run with coordinating the commercial shoot.

Now onto the really GOOD stuff……Can you share a secret, that most people may not know about you?
I would have to say that most people don’t know that I have always wanted to write a book. I don’t know what it would be about or who would every read it, but what a great accomplishment!

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, what would it be called and who would play you?
If my life were made into a movie it would be called, “My House Was Clean Yesterday; Sorry You Missed it.” I wasn’t sure who would play me. My husband says the youngest wife in “Big Love” reminds him of me, so her!

Give me 5 words that best describe you.
1.  Creative
2.  Good Hearted
3.  Thrifty
4.  Soft Spoken
5.  Ornery

Describe a typical day in “Chelsey Land”
A typical day in “Chelsey Land” is staying in bed as long as children will possibly allow (not long). Get up put on my crown as Domestic Goddess, which is usually accessorized with a booger somewhere on my clothing, no makeup, a random sticker stuck somewhere to me that I only discover after I leave my house, and always glitter ( even on days we haven’t used glitter in weeks!) Then I’m off to my everyday cleaning, playing, bills, emails, and errands!  Make some dinner, put babies to bed, then I submerge myself in “Bald Bloomer Land” in front of the tube with my hubby! He is getting pretty good at cutting out petals!

What are you doing when you’re not creating beautiful accessories?
Other then my daily routine, my family and I are traveling. My husband and I own a funnel cake stand and travel the states off and on through out the year working fairs and festivals. A strange way of making a living I know, but a fun way to show our girls the diverse country we live in.  So the next time you go to a fair look for us at Hill’s Concessions!

If you could be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why?
Hello, Project Runway! I have always wanted to be a fashion designer, and who wouldn’t want to hear a “Make it work” in person!
Bonus fact: I would be the go to “crier” designer. I always cry when I get over whelmed, passionate, tired, happy, hurried…

Your FAVES…
Food: Smith and Wollensky’s Filet Mignon Oscar Style (It changed my life!)

Where do you see yourself professionally in 1, 3 and 5 years from now?
Professionally I see myself having an employee in the year or two. Maybe doing Bald Bloomer home parties in the next three. And having my own brand in the next five!

Are you currently working on anything new and special with regards to your business?
Yes, I am always working on something new! I will be trying out a few new styles of fabric flower in the next few months and I will be pulling out some Ohio State Football themed designs before the fall.  I will also be putting out more adult and teen designs that will include feathers!

What can we expect to see from you, product wise, in the month of August?
As mentioned before, I will be offering football themed items, but also more fall colors. Think back to school.

Any final thoughts/comments for me and my readers?
I would like to thank all the little girls and their guardians that took such great photos for Bald Bloomers in the contest shoot. I love all of the photos and appreciate their loving support.  Also, big thanks to Brandis for all her hard work and wonderful ideas! This has been so fun!  I wanted to also put it out there that I love to hear suggestions and feedback, so please contact me with anything!

Thanks Chelsey! I wish you nothing but success and know that as more people find your beautiful creations, they will fall in love like my daughter and I did! And at anytime you’d like to do another commercial shoot, I’d be honored.  XXOO.Brandis

To my readers, you can find some photos from our commercial shoot on my new commercial website —–> click here.  I’m also going to be featuring each child that participated in this shoot too.  They are beautiful little souls!  So keep an eye out for those posts. Have an amazing Sunday.

Poolside Dude {Pieces of Me}

Filed under: Pieces of Me — Brandis Allison @ 3:29 pm

You may remember the post about my daughter A {click here} and her sitting on the hotel bed, waiting patiently to go to the pool for the first time.  Well what I didn’t mention was that I took lots of photos of my little man C too!

So as A is posing for my camera, I notice my cuddlebug talking to himself or talking to something he spotted outside the window of our room.

I listened intently to figure out what he was saying, when I heard him say Mommy. That was my cue to ask if he’d look at the camera for me.  And he agreed.  But only because I just happened to say, “Bug, if you let me take your picture, we’ll go down to the pool to splash daddy!” He smiled and shook his head yes, while saying enthusiastically “Uuuuh HUH!”

Isn’t he a doll baby?  I can’t believe how fast he is growing…and yes, he’s pretending to eat the air that was coming out of the air unit in the room, in the first photo.  Goofy kid!

Then of course A was ready to get down and play too!  So she joined her big brother, looking at only what could be the South Carolina sky.

When big brother C left, A decided to stay a little longer to pound on the window.  She found it quite entertaining!

Have an amazing weekend everyone!  On the blog tomorrow :: Chelsey Hill of Bald Bloomers and her gorgeous girls!
